Christian Community Credit Union Names Blair Korschun as New CEO

Christian Community Credit Union’s Board and Supervisory Committee are pleased to announce Blair Korschun as its new Chief Executive Officer effective March 23, 2020.
“Blair brings a diverse, extensive, and strong leadership and management background to the CEO position,” said Mike Pate, Christian Community Credit Union Board Chair. “We look forward to Blair’s innovative leadership to the Board and staff in our mission to partner with members and ministries to help them become better stewards and achieve their financial goals.”

I look forward to working side by side with our Board and staff to serve and grow our membership,” said incoming CEO Blair Korschun. “Operating as a team with a servant leadership model, I believe we can build on the Credit Union’s strong foundation to serve and steward the larger Christian community. I am excited by the reach and positive impact Christian Community Credit Union has and how much more we can do together.”
Korschun’s career spans more than 27 years. Since 2011, he has served as President and CEO of CU Direct Connect. He spent ten years in the beverage industry, primarily with Pepsi-Cola in both finance and operation roles. He also served as Senior Vice President of Encore Capital Group. As the General Manager of Ascension Capital subsidiary, he was responsible for the management and P&L of Ascension, which provided bankruptcy servicing for large consumer lenders. Korschun was also the VP/Consumer Business Executive with JPMorgan Chase Auto Finance, where he managed direct auto finance. At Capital One Financial, he was the Group Manager and oversaw operations strategy for the young adult credit card business line.
Korschun graduated Magna Cum Laude from Duke University with a triple major in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Economics. He also has an MBA from the University of Chicago in Finance and Production. Korschun is a Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional (CRCMP). He received the Circle of Excellence award at Capital One Financial and was noted for launching the Legal Collections channel. He was also honored with the Vendor of the Year award from BBVA Compass Bank.
Korschun is a native of North Carolina. He and his wife Tracy have two adult children. Their daughter is a teacher and their son a Fulbright Scholar working in Mongolia. Korschun and his wife are dedicated members of Plum Creek Community Church in Colorado, where Blair has served as a small group leader and an usher.
When asked how we can pray for Blair, he said, “Please pray for discernment for me so that I will lead wisely for the benefit of our staff and our members. That I remember to be humble. Also, pray for my family as we build a new chapter of our lives in California with Christian Community Credit Union.”
Board Chair, Mike Pate, expressed his deep appreciation to Marji Hughes for her stellar leadership as the Interim CEO. “Marji did an outstanding job of helping us navigate this season of transition. I will always be grateful for her tireless efforts on behalf of our members, staff and the board of Christian Community Credit Union,” said Mike.
The Credit Union engaged the services of Carter Baldwin for the nationwide executive search. Christian Community Credit Union has over $703 million in assets and over 31,000 members nationwide. For over 63 years, the Credit Union has served as a financial partner of Christian ministries, churches, and their members.
