Robert "Bob” Neill, Long-Time Christian Community Credit Union Board Member Dies
Robert "Bob” Neill, Vice Chairman of the Christian Community Credit Union Board of Directors, passed away on August 4, 2012, after a long battle with cancer. He leaves behind his wife Sue of 44 years, three daughters and their husbands, seven grandchildren and another grandchild due in September. He was 66 years old.
For over 16 years, Bob served as a member of the Credit Union’s Board of Directors. He was a member of the Executive Committee and also served as the Board Chair.
"Bob’s amazing life and ministry, his ready smile and encouragement—and courage—will be a constant reminder to all of us that this is what faithfulness and fruitfulness look like. What a blessing to have been a friend and colleague of Bob. We will continue to pray faithfully for Sue and the Neill family,” says John Pearson, Chairman of Christian Community Credit Union’s Board.
Bob was born on December 1, 1945 in San Francisco, California. He was raised in Southern California and received his B.A. and M.A from Biola University, and his Masters of Divinity degree from Talbot School of Theology in 1974. He ministered and faithfully served two congregations: Whittwood Baptist Church of Whittier as Director of Christian Education (1971-1975), and Christ First Baptist Church of Covina in three positions, Director of Christian Education (1976-1982), Associate Pastor (1983-1984), and Senior Pastor (1992-2008). From 1984-1992, Bob served on the staff of the American Baptist Churches of the Pacific Southwest as the Director of Camping Ministries.
"Bob’s vision, service and friendship will be greatly missed at Christian Community Credit Union,” says John Walling, President/CEO.
