Fall 2006
Since 2004, Christian Community Credit Union has partnered with Transformation Ministries to provide their Christian workers-in-Residence with a Ford minivan to use while on home assignment. The minivan was purchased through the Credit Union's “Cards that Give to Missions & Ministries” program. Transformation Ministries, a ministry who strengthens churches to change the world for Christ, has designated the Mann family to use the minivan in 2006-2007. “It’s been a blessing for us to use the Ford minivan from Christian Community Credit Union. Our biggest challenge was transportation—not being able to get round to connect with our ministry partners and taking the children to school. With the help of the Credit Union, it’s made getting around a whole lot easier” says Lori Mann. Use your “Card that Gives to Missions & Ministries” credit and debit card and make a difference. To apply for your card call 800.347.CCCU or visit myCCCU.com. Picture above is Matt Mann along with his wife Lori (middle) and their daughter Leann. Myth # 1: I'll have to suffer in order to save. You may have to make some changes, but just getting organized and making a plan might make all the difference! Myth # 2: Everybody's doing better than me. Sadly, the national savings rate is zero. Zip. Zilch. So if you manage to save even a little, you're ahead of the game! Myth # 3: If I try to save, I'll sink into debt. This is where your plan comes in. Work out a budget on paper, then put it into action. Pay yourself first, then pay the bills. Myth # 4: If I made more money, I'd save more. Nope. If you're spending everything you make now, you'd probably just spend more. The secret to saving can be summarized in four words: live below your means. Don't let fear, disorganization or peer pressure keep you from building up some financial security.
