$2 Million Donated to Missions and Ministry
October 4, 2006 Newsrelease
(SAN DIMAS, CA) Thanks to the tremendous response of Christian Community Credit Union members to “The Cards that Give to Missions & Ministries” credit card program, the Credit Union has now donated over $2 million to Christian-related causes since the program’s inception in 1994. “The Cards that Give to Missions & Ministries” credit card program has a mission of its own. Every time members make a purchase using their Christian Community Credit Union credit or debit card, the Credit Union donates to missions and ministries. The donation is based on the interchange income that merchants pay to card issuers. Donation recipients are primarily ministries and organizations who are members of Christian Community Credit Union. Excited about this major milestone, Christian Community Credit Union’s President/CEO John Walling states “Our members know that they belong to a credit union that makes a positive difference in people’s lives. When members use Christian Community Credit Union’s credit cards exclusively, the potential donations to missions and ministries are phenomenal!” One of the recipients of the Credit Union’s mission donations this year was Life Pacific College’s 2006 Africa Mission Team. “The gift from the Credit Union allowed the students going to East Africa to bring educational materials and medical supplies to be given away freely. As a result of the Credit Union’s generosity, we saw over 500 people served through our medical clinics and held a conference for over 60 pastors,” says Pastor Dan Stewart, President of Life Pacific College and Africa Mission Team Leader. “Thank you for your continued support of missions around the world and in your community!” adds Pastor Dan. Grace Paden, one of the 19 of students from the mission team said, “Because of the Credit Union’s donation, this trip changed many lives-including mine.” |
